
Peter Mattocks, who practices in the tax-exempt organization area, is returning to Schell Bray PLLC as a partner.
Peter will work primarily in the firm’s Chapel Hill office in the Tax-Exempt Organizations and Philanthropy practice group. Peter returns to Schell Bray after serving as Associate General Counsel at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Peter supported the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation in program design, corporate governance, risk analysis, and developing and implementing training programs. Peter also served as an officer of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Board of Directors and was a member of the Foundation’s leadership team.

Peter is an experienced tax and corporate lawyer focused on helping nonprofit organizations. He regularly advises nonprofits of all sizes and types on many issues, including corporate governance.
Peter earned his J.D. from American University and his B.A. from The George Washington University.
