April Kight Appointed to Chair the Securities Regulation Committee of the NC Bar Association’s Business Law Section

Schell Bray is pleased to announce that partner April Kight has been appointed Chair of the Securities Regulation Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Business Law Section. She has been a member of the Securities Regulation Committee and the Business Law Section Council since 2016. The Business Law Section is a voluntary association of lawyers that focuses on areas of law related to the conduct of business, including banking law, securities regulation, business financing, acquisitions, antitrust, contracts, corporations, director liability, mergers, guarantees and other areas. The Business Law Section also proposes and monitors changes to state business laws and regulations.

In her practice, April regularly advises issuers and investors in connection with private equity transactions, including compliance with federal and state securities law. She is experienced with issuer, secondary transaction, broker-dealer, investment adviser, and investment company regulatory issues that may be raised in connection with the private placement of securities.
