Edward T. Chaney Speaks at 32nd Annual Nonprofit Organizations Institute

Edward T. Chaney, a member of the Schell Bray Trusts and Estates Practice Group, spoke at the University of Texas School of Law’s 32nd Annual Nonprofit Organizations Institute, held in Austin, Texas. Nationally recognized experts from private foundations, public charities, law firms, finance and government discussed the latest tax, legislative and governance issues affecting nonprofit organizations. Mr. Chaney presented “UBIT 101” and co-presented “Executive Compensation, Related Party Transactions and Intermediate Sanctions.”

Ed Chaney focuses his practice on advising tax-exempt organizations on a broad range of tax and corporate matters, including organization formation, structure, and governance, obtaining tax exemption, ongoing tax and regulatory compliance, unrelated business income taxation, charitable giving, investment management of charitable assets, lobbying compliance and disclosure, and complex organizational structures and transactions. He received his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
