Edward T. Chaney Speaks at 33rd Annual Nonprofit Organizations Institute

Edward T. Chaney, a member of the Schell Bray Trusts and Estates Practice Group, spoke at the University of Texas School of Law’s 33rd Annual Nonprofit Organizations Institute, held in Austin, Texas. Nationally recognized experts from private foundations, public charities, law, finance and government discussed the essential characteristics, requirements, benefits and restrictions of being a tax-exempt organization. Mr. Chaney presented “Private Foundation Relationships with Businesses and Family Offices.”

Ed Chaney focuses his practice on advising tax-exempt organizations on key tax and corporate matters, including organization formation and governance, 501(c)(3) tax exemption and ongoing compliance, charitable giving, program-related and impact investing, and complex organizational structures, transactions, and transitions. He received his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
