Attorney Peter Mattocks recently presented at the fifth annual conference of Young Nonprofit Professionals Network in Triangle, N.C. His topic was “Legal Aspects of Nonprofits: The Basics and an Update on Recent Developments.” Peter’s presentation was about what it legally means to be a nonprofit and provided a practical perspective on fundraising and other issues given tax law changes that took effect in 2018.
Peter focuses his practice on advising nonprofit organizations on tax and corporate matters, including organization formation and governance. He also practices in the estate planning area, working with clients on wills, trusts and charitable planning. He is a North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) Business Law Section member as well as a member of the NCBA Estate Law and Fiduciary Law Section.
